What we did in the Academy this week was that we got to do some interviews with some people. We learned what they did with the different ways they check the water here at school. Also we finished our posters for our grouop.

What we did in the academy this week was go down to Bark River and did some testing on the River. We also went up to north campus and had art class to work on our presentation posters.

Reflections on 12-1-11

What we did in the Academy this week was making videos for three different teachers. We are making a presentation on how the school will buy bottled waters and to make it safer so that us students don't have to drink from the bubblers of anything. Also we are making a video on the ILA for art which is actually kinda easy but then again not so much. Alot of us students don't even have anything video taped or on any of the computers.

Reflection of 11-23-11

What I learned this week was to learn to take tests or reviewing something and then doing better on the test kinda like for the Of Mice and Men. Also this week we did this presentation on the Atomic Theory for Mr. Mechinech's sophmore biology class on a famous scientist.

11-16-11

What I learned in the Academy this week is how to understand all the different things for understanding what I'm reading. We also took a test on English which was based on what we learned in the past few years and what I need to work on with Miss Miller. Also for science we are learning about the Atomic Theory with different men and how they came up with the Atomic Theory.

My Reflection of this week 11-10-11

What we did in the academy this week was how crystals are made and how they form from different substances. Also, in the academy for art we are making clay pots which are kinda hard but at the same time kind of fun with the clay. In english for Miss Miller we are learning about a man named John Stienback who wrote the book Of Mice and Men and what his childhood was like and what its was mainly about his life and what happened in the 1930s.

Weekly Blog 10-28-2011

What we did in the Academy this week was trying to get all our stuff done this week before the quarter is over on Friday. Also, this week we had the WKCE Testing and we got to sleep in and in science we are making crystals which are pretty cool and fun to make.

In the Academy

What we did in the academy is presenting our research to the school board and administration. It was basically about what technology is better for us students to use than carrying a laptop around school. Some people did the Ipad or the MacBook Air. This for us students to use in the future than using a keyboard all the time and how to use something with a touch screen to see which one is better.

Blog of the week

This week we finished doing our product testing and now we are writing a letter to the School Board and Administration and tell them what product and which one would be better for us students to use. We are going to try to persuade them on buying something like a iPad 2 or a MacBook and to see if they would like to get us students something that would be easier to carry around. It's a wierd product and just to see if they would in the future get us one of the things for us students to use instead of carrying a heavy laptop around the school. Also to take notes on and doing research on different subjects and projects for different teachers.

What we did this week in the ILA was that we went to Mayfair and learned alot of different things in the Apple Store. We also had lunch at Mayfair which was kind of fun. We also did our product testing and now we have to make a comercial which I still have to do. The other thing is that we got to do all these experiments which was so much fun.

What we did in the Academy

What we I like in the academy so far is the product testing for certain things and how they work. The other thing that I like is that how much time we have to work. We can most of our homework done and we can read on the nooks. The nooks I think are so cool but there kind of hard to work with but I am kind of getting the hang of it.

I like it because of how the projects that we are assigned and how the blogs are going. The acceptance assignments book I don't really like. The project that were doing is on different products and how these different products work. Also, I like the academy with all the different activities.

Measurements:

1. Accuracy is how exact you measure something. Precision is how accurate you measure a certain object or a liquid.
2. An electronic beam shows you more exact on how much something weighs like right on the spot. A triple beam doesn't show you how accurate something weighs like wiegh off or really close but not accurate or precise.
3. A significan digit is determines the amount being rounded off in measurements.
4. The mass of 2 Liters of water would be 2000mm.
5. What I learned is how to measure with certain objects and what there basically used for. Also all the different names of the objects.

Are Smart Phones actually smart?

Smart phones are actually not smart because they can usually not work as well as you think. The internet on the Smart Phone doesn't usually doesn't work that well because it usaully freezes and usually the some of the sites you look for don't usually work. The youtube app doesn't work because alot of people usually watch the same videos at the same time and usually one phone will work and the other will not work. The app store usually doesn't work either because alot of people are on that looking for games or music. Some of the apps people buy aren't that great and is usually doesn't work and are sometimes rip offs. Back to the point smart phones aren't good period.

I think that laptops are better because they are easier to use than the Ipad.The Ipad is not good because it has a touch screen and they mess you up with a touch screen

Ropes Course

The ropes course makes you work as a team and to trust each other. The ropes course also helps you face your fears and to say, "I can do this.". It was a great experience and was fun but still kind of scary for me. What can you do about it? Like I said you can just have fun and just try something new even though you don't want to do it.

Design A Room

The design a room project is a great way to learn to work as a team. To agree on a certain idea on how to make the room look cool and a way to study and relaxing. This is one of the hardest project I have done and it's hard to come up with ideas and to really agree on something that the whole group wants then saying something that one person wants and then the other two want something else instead.
