Student Led Conferences
I think that the student led conferences are going pretty well so far it's just hard for some people because they don't know what they are going to talk about with their parents and with their counselors. My biggest concern is what my parents are going to think and what they are going to say. Some of the questions I have would be would I be able to answer all the questions they ask and how I am doing in classes. I need to get all of the things put together and practice what I am going to say in front of my parents.

Olympics: Chen Yanyan
My name is Chen Yanyan. I live in China. My country is the first mos populated in the whole entire world. I don't really care where I live. I was born April 5,1985. There are three people in my family: my mother, my father, and my sister. When I compete in the Olympics my event is, Swimming, which by the way is alot of fun. One of the races I am in and very good at is: The Women's 200m Backstroke. I have gotten 6th place and 19th place. I prefer the 6th place one rather than the 19th place because 19th isn't what I was going for I was going for the 1st place but I guess I psyched myself out a little too much.

Making a modern day movie of Romeo and Juliet
I thought that it was hard to create a video of Romeo and Juliet and it was over all difficult to make it into a movie. I thought that it was okay creating the video but it was really hard to come up with how your really going create this video. It was hard for everybody because of the limited amount of time we needed to make it but it was really hard to create for some people. I would rather take a test rather than doing this because it would be alot easier to take the test. Whereas, the video website was really hard to use and to create the movie.

The olympics represent each and every country and what sport they do. The olympics to me means that people from all over the world have different talents and are good at many things like soccer or swimming and that encourages me to do anything I want if I try or put my mind to it. I would either do swimming or soccer. I would do soccer because first of all I've playing it ever since I was little and love. I would do swimming as well because I love being in the water alot and because I'm really good at it.

I wouldn't stick with playing the violin if I didn't want to unless my parents forced me to. The boy made the right decision and decided to stick with playing the violin to help him and his father because they had no money. If I was the boy I wouldn't do it unless we needed the money or anything like that.
What we learned in the Academy this week was that Romeo and Juliet are going to get married and run away together. In Social Studies we learned how the Chinese are all serious about everything and how they need to stay with something that they started and commit to something and just to stick with it.

I like being the Academy because we have alot of freedom where as being in a class room for an hour and fifteen minutes. The Academy should be offered to Sophmore's because the Academy is alot better than be in a class room with a bunch other classmates and also because we might learn some new things than what we learned from our freshman year. Newton's three law's of motion applies to anything that I due in my life. For example, the place that I work at is a Martial Arts place and it invovle some kicking and punching. These three laws are applied to English and Social Studies by how,"Romeo and Juliet" and how Romeo and how he paces back and forth when he is depressed about how the love of his life doesn't love him back. This week in the Academy we got to eat food in Social Studies and got to see what different countries and what they are like. Also, this week we learned Newton's Three Laws. In English we read "Romeo and Juliet" and how they met at the party and how they fell in love with each other even though their countries hate each other.

Reflections of 1-23-12
- What I liked about the Academy is we got to do alot of hands on activities and how to trust each other in any kind of situation or project.
- What I think that could be improved in the Academy is that we need to finish one project before going onto the next one and then later on go come back to that project from a long time ago and no one will remeber.
- What my academic goals are for this semester is to focus on my homework more and to get better grades.
- What I learned in the Academy this week was how to create a website on Google Docs. for Integrated Learning with Mr.Brester.
- In Science I also learned how an airplane works and what different parts of planes do. I also got to throw paper airplanes in the lobby to see how far they would go and how long there hang time was.
- In Social Studies I learned what the Renassance was like, how brutal it was,and how scary it must have been to live during that time period.
- In English we are learning about or reading about,"Romeo and Juliet" by. Shakespeare. What we learned about Shakespeare so far is that some of his books are about different families and what that life was like. Alot of his books were based on love and romance just like, "Romeo and Juliet."
